Tails of the North Inc. Dog Rescue

Writing the next chapter in rescue dogs lives since 2022.

Tails of the North Inc. is a foster-based registered charitable organization, dedicated to helping rescue dogs find their forever homes.

All dogs at Tails of the North Inc. Dog Rescue need a second chance. They have been abused, abandoned, lost and given up.

They love you unconditionally. Will you love them the same?

Adopting is one of the best things you can do.

When you adopt, you are not just giving a deserving dog a home. You are also reducing the demand for puppy mills and other industrial-scale breeding operations that put profit before animal welfare. Please join us on our journey to write the next chapter in rescue dogs lives.

Meet Our Available Dogs

  • Meet Lola!

She is a 2-years old American Bulldog, Lab, Hound mix.

Lola came to us from the City of Hamilton Animal Services where they found her as a stray.

She has a heart full of love and a soft spot for cuddles! Lets just say the perfect balance of energy, charm and sweetness.

Lola is great with all humans, cats and some dogs (she is choosy with the dogs in her circle - we can't say we blame her!). She is also fully house trained and crate trained.

She walks great on leash and knows command such as sit and wait. Did we mention she loves to give hugs?

Lola would thrive in a household that enjoys walks and also values some downtime together. She is looking for someone who can keep her mind stimulated with fun games and give her all the belly rubs that she deserves after a good play session.

  • Meet Shelby!

She is a 1-year old Siberian Husky.

Shelby came to us from the City of Hamilton Animal Services where they found her as a stray.

She is such a stage 5 clinger! Shelby is so happy to explore or cuddle with you - you choose. She is extremely friendly and intelligent. She loves her toys and to do zoomies in the yard. She is a great walker and will make an amazing new addition to your family.

Shelby loves dogs, the car, walking and exploring. She knows commands such as sit and paw. She is house trained and crate trained as well. It is clear she was someone’s dog and only wants to thrive on human company.

This social butterfly wants nothing more than to be your best friend and show you she’s meant to be your love bug!

  • Meet Bauer!

He is a 4-years old Double Doodle.

Bauer came to us as a local owner surrender.

He is a delicate boy who loves gentle attention and he is especially fond of treats (they are re the key to his heart!).

Bauer is the definition of a happy, sensitive, wiggly doodle who is sure to win the right family's heart!

Bauer has formed strong bonds with his regular caregivers and his trust in people continues to grow. He is playful and affectionate with those he knows, and he is becoming the kind of dog who will snuggle up for some quiet, cozy time after a day of fun. While he may take some time to warm up to new people and situations, with patience, he will shine even brighter in a calm and loving home.

Bauer loves every dog he meets! While he is an absolute delight, Bauer still has a bit to learn. He loves to jump up, so he is still perfecting his greetings (his excitement sometimes gets the better of him!). He will need a family that’s committed to ongoing positive training to help him build those all-important life skills and confidence.

If you're looking for an energetic, sweet, and fun-loving dog who just needs a little guidance and a lot of love, Bauer is your man! He will need a family who can provide plenty of physical activity, mental enrichment and puzzle play to keep him engaged and happy.

  • Meet Dolly!

She is a 1-year 6-months old Bull terrier, Lab mix.

Dolly is a sweet bundle of joy with a heart and personality as big as her eyes! This little cutie came to us from the City of Hamilton Animal Services where they found her as a stray.

She is ready to fill your home with love and laughter!

Dolly is full of energy and curiosity. She is incredibly playful and sweet, always up for a good game or snuggle session. She has the brains to match her beauty. Dolly is super smart and food motivated, which makes her a great to train! Positive reinforcement and consistency will help her excel in her training, and we know she will be a fast learner.

She loves her toys! Dolly has not had one accident and is fully crate trained as well.

Could she be your new best friend?
