Introducing Sadie, the goofy-grinned, kid-approved, dog-approved, cat-tolerant, heart-melting one-year-old shepherd mix who has somehow not found her family yet… but this holiday season, we are determined to change that.

The Sadie Effect: Everyone who meets Sadie says the same thing: “Oh my gosh… she is perfect.” And she is. But for some reason, the applications just have not come, even though Sadie is the type of dog who makes strangers smile and dogs wag their tails before she even gets close.

A Gentle Soul Wrapped in a Big, Cuddly Body: Sadie came to us as a stray at a high kill shelter with very little known about her past, but every day she shows us who she truly is: A soft, sensitive, unbelievably sweet young dog who wants nothing more than a family to follow, cuddle and adore.

She is still figuring out the world, but she does it with the cutest “I am trying my best!” enthusiasm. Her signature move? A low, gentle tail wag that basically says, “Hi… can we be friends?” Spoiler: The answer is always yes.

What Sadie Dreams Of: Sadie’s perfect match is a home that gets what a gentle giant she is, big in size, bigger in heart and ready to grow with a family who loves her for her softness. She is a 3-years old American Bulldog, Lab, Hound mix.

The full package: Affectionate, playful and just a little quirky in the most lovable way. Lola came to us from City of Hamilton Animal Services after being found as a stray, and ever since, she has been turning heads and winning hearts with her wiggly tail, gentle eyes and irresistible charm.

Lola loves people, all people, and gives the kind of hugs that instantly melt stress away. She is also great with cats, which is a rare gem! With other dogs, she is a bit more selective and prefers calm, well-mannered friends. In fact, she is happiest as the one and only pup, soaking up all the attention (and belly rubs) for herself. She has so much love to give and she would love to give it all to you, we cannot say we blame her!

She walks beautifully on leash most of the time, but we will be honest: Lola can get vocal and overstimulated when she sees other dogs out and about. She is working on it and will thrive with someone who is patient, willing to continue training and understands that she sometimes just needs a little help staying calm. She is already house-trained, crate-trained and knows her basic commands like “sit” and “wait.” Treats? Yes, please! This girl is eager to please and super smart when food is involved.
