Tails of the North Inc. Dog Rescue

Writing the next chapter in rescue dogs lives since 2022.

Tails of the North Inc. is a foster-based registered charitable organization, dedicated to helping rescue dogs find their forever homes.

All dogs at Tails of the North Inc. Dog Rescue need a second chance. They have been abused, abandoned, lost and given up.

They love you unconditionally. Will you love them the same?

Adopting is one of the best things you can do.

When you adopt, you are not just giving a deserving dog a home. You are also reducing the demand for puppy mills and other industrial-scale breeding operations that put profit before animal welfare. Please join us on our journey to write the next chapter in rescue dogs lives.

Meet Our Available Dogs

  • Meet Hunter!

He is a 3-months old Jack Russell Terrier, Lab mix.

Hunter came to us from Bahamas, where two of our amazing volunteers were volunteering at a spay and neuter clinic!

He is a bundle of joy who is just beginning to discover how wonderful the world can be! With his soulful eyes and wagging tail, Hunter is the definition of puppy love. He is at that magical age where everything is new and exciting, and he is learning every day that people, snuggles and lap time are some of the best things life has to offer.

Hunter has a heart full of love and a soft spot for cuddles—he is the ultimate lap dog in training. Whether it is curling up next to you for a cozy nap or giving you a nuzzle after a play session, he is happiest when he is close to his humans.

Though still a pup, Hunter is already ahead of the game—he is almost fully house-trained, crate-trained and learning to walk beautifully on a leash. He is picking up commands like sit and loves to show off his smarts when a treat is on the line.

He is wonderful with kids, cats, and most dogs (he is still figuring out his circle of canine friends, and hey—we all get to be a little choosy). He is also the best little co-pilot for car rides and absolutely adores being part of the adventure.

Hunter would thrive in a home that enjoys daily walks, playful activities and plenty of down time for cuddles. He is looking for a forever family who will help him continue to grow into a confident, loving dog—and give him all the affection, fun and fuzzy blankets his little heart desires.

If you are looking for the perfect mix of puppy energy, charm, and sweetness—Hunter is your guy.

  • Meet Dolly!

She is a 1-year 6-months old Bull terrier, Lab mix.

Dolly is a sweet bundle of joy with a personality as big and bright as her eyes! This adorable girl came to us from City of Hamilton Animal Services, where she was found as a stray. Since then, she has been melting hearts and winning over everyone she meets.

Dolly is bursting with energy, curiosity and love. She is playful, affectionate and always ready for a game or a cuddle. Smart as a whip and highly food-motivated, Dolly is a great to train once she focuses. With positive reinforcement and a little consistency, she will pick up new skills in no time!

She is already crate trained and has not had a single accident in her foster home. Plus, she loves her toys — squeaky, chewy, bouncy — she does not discriminate!

If you are looking for a loyal, loving and fun companion, Dolly might just be the perfect match for you.

Is Dolly the missing piece in your life?!

  • Meet Lola!

She is a 2-years old American Bulldog, Lab, Hound mix.

This quirky sweetheart came to us from the City of Hamilton Animal Services after being found as a stray, and she has been stealing hearts ever since.

Lola is the perfect mix of energy, charm, and cuddly sweetness. She has a big heart, a soft spot for snuggles and just the right amount of sass to keep you smiling.

She adores humans of all kinds, is cat-friendly and while she can be selective with other dogs, she does have a few dog friends she enjoys — as long as they are not too rowdy! She is also perfectly happy being the only pup in the home, soaking up all the attention and belly rubs for herself.

Lola thrives on routine and loves a bit of structure in her day. She is fully house trained, crate trained and walks beautifully on leash. She knows commands like “sit” and “wait,” and she is always eager to learn more — especially if there are treats involved. Did we mention she gives the best hugs and makes an excellent co-pilot for car rides?

She would do best in a home that enjoys daily walks and also values cozy downtime together. Lola’s ideal match is someone who understands her unique personality, can keep her mind stimulated with fun activities and is ready to give her all the love she deserves.

Could Lola be your one and only?
