Please indicate the type of fence and how tall. We will be conducting a home inspection, now is the time to fix that gate that does not work and the whole in the bottom of the fence that a foster dog may escape from.

We will place the right foster dog to a home with children. Some dogs are meant to be best buddies with children, others are not. Our foster based rescue allows for us to determine which dogs are suitable for homes with children and which are not.

Crating is extremely beneficial to the rescue dog's decompression. Although not everyone agrees with crating a dog, our dogs are used to their crates as a safe haven. It is therefore recommended to continue with crating.
Do you have any planned vacation that will prohibit you from fostering?

How would you deal with behavioural issues such as barking, chewing, destructive behavior, bathroom accidents indoors, unruly leash behaviors, developed aggressiveness in a foster dog?

Please do not be afraid to say there are certain behavioural issues that you would not deal with. As we are a foster based rescue, it allows for us to determine some (not all) behavioural issues in our rescue dogs. It is important to note, that not all behavioural issues are displayed prior to the dog being placed in a foster home. Behavioural issues can develop over time, as with any dog and not just a rescue dog. That is why it is extremely crucial to understand that you will help the dog you are fostering progress and not regress.

Do you agree to an initial home inspection? In addition to the first home inspection, one will be required every 6 months to ensure you remain an approved foster. Do you agree to this as well?

Tails of the North Inc. will cover the medical costs associated with the foster dog. Tails of the North Inc. will not reimburse medical expenses due to the fosters carelessness. Do you agree?

All medical appointments, expenses etc. must be approved by the Foster Coordinator of Tails of the North Inc. You agree to get authorization from an authorized Tails of the North Inc. Foster Coordinator before taking it upon yourself to make these decisions.

I understand that applying does not ensure approval and that untruthful answers or failure to comply with the requirements of this application can result in the forfeiture of any Tails of the North Inc. (TOTN) animal fostered by me. I certify that the above information is correct, and I understand that the information will be verified. I understand that by submitting this form electronically, I agree to release and covenant to hold harmless TOTN and it's members from any claims, damages, costs, or actions incurred because of the care or actions of the foster dog. I accept full responsibility for the dog(s) actions at all times and release TOTN from any liabilities or damages that may be incurred because of fostering such dog(s). I agree to have TOTN complete reference call checks and conduct a home visit inspection to be able to approve my foster application. I agree that if I'm unable to foster the dog(s) anymore that I will return the dog(s) to TOTN and try to give TOTN reasonable notice to try and find another suitable foster for the dog(s). By clicking the submit button, I agree to signing a legally binding foster agreement superseding this agreement with TOTN, prior to the transfer of the rescue dog from TOTN to me as a foster.
