Terms and Conditions of Adoption Application

This is an ADOPTION APPLICATION CONTRACT. By clicking on the submit button, you are submitting your application to Tails of the North Inc. (TOTN) dog rescue for us to commence processing your application. If you do not click the submit button, then your application will not be processed. By clicking the submit button BELOW, YOU ARE DEEMED TO HAVE AGREED TO ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CONTAINED IN THIS CONTRACT. THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY TO ANY DOG YOU ADOPT FROM TOTN UNLESS EXPRESSLY SUPERSEDED BY A DIFFERENT CONTRACT WITH TOTN SPECIFICALLY REFERENCING THIS CONTRACT. THERE IS NO FEE WHATSOEVER FOR SUBMITTING, AND TOTN’s PROCESSING, OF YOUR APPLICATION. Thank you for filling out the adoption application. By electronically submitting this application, I/we understand that this is the first step of the adoption process. I/we attest that the information provided on this application is true and accurate to the best of my/our knowledge. I/we have retained a copy of this application for my/our records and understand that completion and submission of this application does not guarantee or entitle me/us to adoption of a rescue dog. By submitting this application, you also are attesting that you are at least 18 years old. Pet ownership is a serious commitment that the entire household needs to consider and agree to before the dog is adopted. We want to ensure that each adoptive household is aware of and willing and able to accept the physical and financial responsibilities of pet ownership. Not everyone that desires a dog is ready to properly care for one. I understand all of the questions and have completely read the application and understand that this dog MUST be indoors, and this dog will not live chained/penned outside unattended. I understand that I can return this dog to TOTN within ten (10) day for a full refund minus a $100.00 administration fee. After that time, I understand I am no longer eligible for a refund. I agree that at any time and for any reason I no longer want or can no longer care for this dog, I will email TOTN at tailsofthenorth@hotmail.com, and undergo a waiting period in which 1) a representative may work with me to resolve any issues with the dog, or 2) will allow TOTN time to find an appropriate foster home. I understand that I am not authorized to release this dog to any other party, whether related to me or not, and I agree that in any circumstance, if I can no longer keep this dog in its lifetime, the dog will be returned to TOTN. By electronically submitting this form to TOTN or by signing/typing in the fields below and submitting this application to any TOTN volunteer by email or in person, you are legally bound to this contract. The statements, terms, and conditions of this application (including without limitation the return policy) applies to any and all dogs I adopt from TOTN, regardless of if named in this application or not, until a new or different application is submitted by me to TOTN. An adoption fee is required for all dogs and is listed on the website and communicated by an authorized TOTN Adoption Coordinator who is a volunteer. Your submission of this application electronically is also confirmation to TOTN that you understand the fees described above. We make no guarantees in reference to the health and/or temperament of the dog. The dog is adopted “AS IS” and the adopter assumes responsibility for the treatment of all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. While the rescuer makes every effort to place only healthy animals, the rescuer cannot guarantee the health of any animal. The rescuer shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses which may be incurred, hereby expressly excluding any implied or express warranties, merchant ability, or fitness for any particular purpose, including without limitation and warranties regarding health, temperament or whether the animal is housebroken. We do not refund adoption fees if the dog is returned after ten (10) days. If we determine that the match was just not an appropriate fit, we will work with you to find the right fit for your circumstances. This is a legally binding adoption contract. By clicking the submit button, I agree to signing a legally binding adoption agreement superseding this agreement with TOTN, prior to the transfer of the rescue dog from TOTN to me. This is in addition to the Terms and Conditions of this application form.

Terms and Conditions of Foster Application 

By sending this electronically, I acknowledge that I have completely read this questionnaire and comprehend it fully.

I understand that applying does not ensure approval and that untruthful answers or failure to comply with the requirements of this application can result in the forfeiture of any Tails of the North Inc. (TOTN) animal fostered by me.

I certify that the above information is correct, and I understand that the information will be verified.

I understand that by submitting this form electronically, I agree to release and covenant to hold harmless TOTN and it's members from any claims, damages, costs, or actions incurred because of the care or actions of the foster dog.

I accept full responsibility for the dog(s) actions at all times and release TOTN from any liabilities or damages that may be incurred because of fostering such dog(s).

I agree to have TOTN complete reference call checks and conduct a home visit inspection to be able to approve my foster application.

I agree that if I'm unable to foster the dog(s) anymore that I will return the dog(s) to TOTN and try to give TOTN reasonable notice to try and find another suitable foster for the dog(s).

By clicking the submit button, I agree to signing a legally binding foster agreement superseding this agreement with TOTN, prior to the transfer of the rescue dog from TOTN to me as a foster. This is in addition to the Terms and Conditions of this application form.

Terms and Conditions of Volunteer Application  

By sending this electronically, I acknowledge that I have completely read this questionnaire and comprehend it fully. 

I understand that applying does not ensure approval and that untruthful answers or failure to comply with the requirements of this application can result in Tails of the North Inc. (TOTN) not proceeding with my application.

I certify that the above information is correct, and I understand that the information will be verified. 

I understand that by submitting this form electronically, I agree to release and covenant to hold harmless TOTN and its members from any claims, damages, costs, or actions incurred because of my volunteerism with rescue dogs in TOTN care.

By clicking the submit button, I agree to signing a legally binding volunteer agreement superseding this agreement with TOTN, prior to the commencement of my volunteerism with TOTN. This is in addition to the Terms and Conditions of this application form.

Terms and Conditions of Surrender Application  

By sending this electronically, I acknowledge that I have completely read this questionnaire and comprehend it fully. 

I understand that applying does not ensure approval and that untruthful answers or failure to comply with the requirements of this application can result in Tails of the North Inc. (TOTN) seeking damages for the unexpected costs transpired from the untruthful answers.

I certify that the above information is correct, and I understand that the information will be verified. 

I understand that by submitting this form electronically, I agree to release and covenant to hold harmless TOTN and it's members from any claims, damages, costs, or actions incurred because of the care or actions of the surrendered dog. 

I agree to have TOTN call my references and conduct a home visit inspection to be able to approve my surrender application. 

By clicking the submit button, I agree to signing a legally binding surrender agreement superseding this agreement with TOTN, prior to the transfer of the surrender dog from me to TOTN. This is in addition to the Terms and Conditions of this application form.
